Established in 1997, Barnet African Caribbean Association specialises in the delivery of culturally sensitive services to older people aged over 55. The service is activity orientated and designed to stimulate and encourage social contact, whilst keeping service users physically and mentally active in a warm and safe environment. BACA’s mission is to “promote the well-being of its service users and to help make later life a fulfilling and enjoyable experience”. 

To achieve this mission, BACA strives to involve older people directly in defining needs, determining priorities, and exerting control over the decisions, which affect their lives. Covid-19 has meant that BACA has taken many of its services on-line, while still providing outreach to its service users.
